"Can I Speak to One of Your Coaches?" We Used to Say Yes. Here's Why We Stopped.
We get this on almost every call. Fair question. We used to say yes.
The answer now is no.
Here's what happened. Every quarter we talk to somewhere between 30 and 40 coaches, and most of them never come on board. Meanwhile, our existing coaches were spending 15 hours a week on calls with strangers who were, in most cases, their direct competitors, still window shopping. Fifteen hours a week is nearly two full workdays. Gone.
Eventually our coaches told us this was too much. They were right. They partnered with us to fill a group, run it well, and keep members long term. Not to become an unpaid sales team.
So here's what we do instead.
Video testimonials with names and businesses attached, refreshed every quarter. A deliverables document that spells out what we're responsible for and what you're responsible for. Over 100 coaches running with us. And a cancellation window, so you can review everything and make a confident decision before you're locked into anything.
Will this policy cost us a good coach here and there? Probably. I'd rather lose one coach than keep taxing a hundred who already trusted us. My job is protecting the roster we have, not winning every prospect who wants one more reference call.
So ask me anything you would ask them. I'll answer it myself.
Open book.
