How We Generate Interest for CEO Peer Advisory Groups (Hint: We're Not Selling the Coach)
Coaches ask us this on almost every call. You handle the marketing, fine. But how do you get leaders interested in the groups?
Short answer: we're not selling you.
We're selling ScaleSmart Leadership. The groups. When a CEO books a call, it's not because they heard their coach is the expert who'll fix everything. It's because of who else is in the room.
Peer advisory is a billion-dollar industry for a reason. Leaders want to sit with people fighting the same fights, or better, people who already won them. Our groups run 8 to 10 leaders, and we match them carefully. You won't find a $300 million CEO and a $2 million software startup at the same table. Those are two different worlds. Plenty of coaching companies out there group leaders by geography and call it a day.
We don't.
That matching is why leaders say yes. The $4 billion in combined revenue across our groups doesn't hurt either.
So where does the coach fit? You're the perk. A good one. We only partner with established coaches because a group with a seasoned facilitator keeps members longer and enrolls new ones easier. Your job comes down to two things. Take the enrollment calls. Coach the group. The marketing, the interest, the pipeline, all of that sits with us.
The light bulb usually goes off somewhere in that explanation. Leaders aren't coming to you to fix their problems. They're coming to the group. Once a coach gets that, the whole model clicks.
